Reflections on Psalm 139
I sin against You, Lord. I awake in the early morning and spend the first hour with You. Then, far too often, I get caught up in the world and my own self-centered thoughts.
BUT: “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence?” When I go my own way, pursuing my own sinful desires (for everything apart from You is sin), Your Holy Spirit convicts me. I thank You for that. Who knows where I would go if You did not check me.
You are my hope, my only meaning, the reason for my life. “Search me, O God, and know my heart…See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
