A CHRISTIAN’S ONE FOUNDATION

Pastor Bill gave an illuminating word picture last Wednesday evening at a Bible study on Ephesians 4. There is one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God, and may I mention one Bible that clearly defines what is right and what is wrong. This is a sure foundation made out of granite and anchored in heaven. On it we are safe and secure no matter what’s happening in our lives.

Whoever steps off that foundation swims in murky and turbulent waters, unsafe and subject to the wiles of the evil one. They are no longer true believers but apostate Christians; that is, those who reject their religion and faith and follow a religion made up by those who don’t adhere to what God says in His Word.

There are apostate Christians who cover up all sorts of sins by saying, “God is love and surely approves this lifestyle or that,” not accepting that there are consequences to turning one’s back on God’s Word.

And so the word picture is this: We are secure and safe in God’s world when we are standing on the one true foundation; but if we step off, we are on our own, in a dangerous world of our own making.

One Response to “A CHRISTIAN’S ONE FOUNDATION”

  1. Myron Sahlberg Says:

So well said Pat! Our world is preaching and teaching the inclusive doctrine of demons who’s intention is to make our Creator God look foolish, harsh, and unloving. Confusion is buried in the package of inclusion, justifying all our sin, and blinding our minds and hearts to the real destruction taking place in us and around us. We need a Savior. His name is the WORD. HE IS TRUTH – “I am yours; save me, . . .” Psalm 119:94
